It all began with that stupid Maharaja and his silly white camel. Why anyone would want to have a camel was mystifying to Starchaser.
"I will not travel with that thing aboard this ship!" she said, "It's filthy, it's loud, and it spits, and I will not have it!"
The camel and its handler where on the platform waiting to board the White Foxx. Desert sands blew across the market square and whipped between the wooden stands of the Arabian shopkeepers.
"I'm sorry Star, but the camel comes. It's the whole reason we came here." John said as he tightened the ropes on a few crates on deck. They'd run out of room in the hold and had been forced to move some things to create a stall for the camel.
"I thought we were here to pick up a shipment of spices for the Maharaja."
"We are, and the camel. It's a gift from the mayor of the city. If we don't take it both the mayor and the Maharaja will be very upset. Thing could get awfully dicey if we don't go along with this."
"Well, I suppose. As long as it stays below. You and Jack will have to feed it and clean up after it. I won't go near it. Why anyone would want a camel for a gift is beyond me."
Starchaser continued to mumble as she headed towards her cabin at the back of the ship. She would hide out there until that horrible beast was secured below. Maybe if she never saw it come onboard she could pretend they'd left it behind in Arabia.

Bad News

The puddle of red glistened in the firelight as it spilled from the gold cup that had been dropped from the hand of Starchaser Macbeth, spilling its winey contents onto the ornate cream and gold carpet, Starchaser having collapsed into a heap scant moments before. It simply could not be true, she told herself. In fact, she refused to believe that anything at all unsavory had happened to Jack, much less that he was dead. But John had seemed so sure that there were no survivors. She simply couldn't understand how something as simple as a short scout over the island of Periagua to look for fresh water had resulted in a terrible firey crash. Without Jack or his scout plane she and John would have virtually no protection nor anyway to send for help. They were stranded, trapped aboard an airship adrift over the Pacific ocean with no stearing, no water, and soon, they would run out of helium and be forced to start burning anything flamable in order to generate hot air as an alternative. And to think, all this could have been easily avoided.

The White Foxx

The White Foxx, greatest airship of them all. Or, at least John Morgan thought it was. Sure, it didn't have grand state rooms and chandeliers in the dining room, living quarters being a bit more rustic than that. And it wasn't exactly the biggest merchant vessel around, though it was big enough to contain the scoutplane Vixen in it's hangar. Sure, some of the floorboards creaked and there were a few rusty hinges but it was home, and that was worth all the greatness in the world.

Meet Starchaser

How do you do? My name is Starchaser. I have spent my whole life on and around airships. My father was a wealthy merchant with a fleet of five airships, four shipping vessels and the yacht that was our home. He made his fortune trading for silks and spices in the far east. I was quite happy growing up on a yacht with a wealthy merchant for a father. It was when he tried to marry me off to the spoiled son of his rich rival that I decided to leave home and strike out on my own. I found work on board the White Foxx as a cook, seamstress, and cabin girl and I have been travelling with John and Jack ever since. Besides my manual labors I have found that my upbringing quite suits me to navigating the ins and outs of merchant trading and, though he won't admit it, to getting our fearless captain John out of more than one bad business deal.

Meet Jack and John

Jack Morgan and John Richard here. Just wanted to introduce ourselves and let you know a little bit about us.

Hi, I'm John! I grew up in a quaint little city just north of the Littlefork River. I was always fascinated by planes and airships and ever since I was a kit I dreamed of what it would be like to fly. Never in a million years would I have thought I would actually become an airship captian, yet that's exactly what happened. Shortly after graduating from the royal airship academy I shipped out on my first vessel, the HMS Starbuck. I was rapidly promoted up the ranks and following some noteworthy action during a failed pirate attack I was given a commision as captain of a small trading and exploration vessel dubed the White Foxx. I now spend much of my time traveling between the ports of distant and exotic lands in search of goods that will fetch a good price back home on the mainland.

Jack's the name, I'm from the far north near a little place called white cliff. I spent most of my childhood running around the tundra looking for things to do to keep myself from getting bored. For the most part I got into trouble by biting off more than I could chew, somthing I still do as a matter if fact. I got to be such a burden that my folks shipped me off to the royal airship academy in the hopes that it would straighten me out. I met up with John who was a few years ahead of me and became friends. I found myself specializing in airplane flight and as soon as I left school I joined up with John as a scout plane pilot on board the White Foxx. I travel with John and the rest of the crew as we ply the skies in search of trade and adventure.

My Newest Enterprise

I recently moved my old blog (which used to be at this address) to a new blogger address and suddenly found myself with a spare blog address. Not one to waste opportunity I decided to keep it (rather then let it slip away into the internet ether to be snapped up by some other enterprising fox-themed blogger)and start a new blog. It gave me the pleasant chance to try out all the new blogger features without worrying about messing up my other blogs (if I like them I may start using them for my other blogs).

In the meantime I have decided to use this blog as the site of my newest enterprise, a steam punk furry adventure story about a crew of anthropomorphised foxes and their airship, the White Foxx. I'm not promising that it will be anything great or that it will be updated all that often but it will at least be something for anyone to read while they procrastinate their more important endevours by tooling around on the internet reading amature steam punk furry adventure stories.

Next Post: Meet John and Jack, the captain and his best buddy.
